Where do you hold you sessions?

We run sessions at Wrekin College (Telford) and at Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre on Sundays.

What does the free taster session involve?

Your child’s first group session is free. They can meet the coaches, explore the activities and join in at their own pace. There is no pressure to participate immediately. A free first one-to-one session of up to 30 minutes is also available, subject to availability.

How much are regular sessions?

Regular football sessions cost £31.99 per month by direct debit. There is no registration fee, and branded kit is optional. We want our sessions to be as affordable as possible, meaning we are committed to keeping our prices as low as possible.

Mega Wonders: 5–7 years

These ages are a guide. We will consider each child’s confidence, development and needs.

What makes Wonderkid Sports different?

Our sessions are led by qualified teachers and combine football coaching with inclusive, child-centred practice. Children develop skills, confidence, communication, teamwork and vocabulary through our Word of the Week and the optional Wonderkid Power Patch pathway, where they can get funky iron-on patches!

Many companies now charge £40+ per month and a registration fee. We are also one of the cheapest coaching companies out there - no child should not be able to afford an active lifestyle!

Does my child need football experience?

No. Sessions are suitable for complete beginners and more experienced children. Is it suitable for shy or nervous children?Yes. Children can watch, explore and join in when they feel ready. They will never be forced to participate.

Are your sessions actually inclusive?

Yes. Activities can be adapted for different abilities and additional needs. Communication aids, ear defenders, sensory items and support workers are welcome where appropriate. We assess risks at every venue we have relationships with, and are happy to talk to parents/carers about this in advance.

Can I tell you about my child’s needs?

Please do! Tell us about any SEND, communication, sensory, medical, mobility, emotional or safety needs (regardless of whether they have a formal diagnosis or not) when registering so we can plan appropriate support.

What if my child does not join in during the taster?

That is completely fine. Watching, meeting the coaches or entering the venue may be an important first step.

Do you offer SEND sessions?

Yes. We provide inclusive and bespoke SEND football, dodgeball, athletics, sensory and multi-sport sessions for families, schools, councils, charities and community organisations. Prices are based on individual requirements.

Do you offer one-to-one coaching?

Yes. Our most qualified coaches offer this.

Bookings and monthly direct debits are managed through Class4Kids. Places must be booked in advance. We do not take cash payments.

Yes, provided there is space in the appropriate group.

Comfortable clothing and trainers are suitable. Branded kit is optional. Please bring a labelled drink and any communication or sensory equipment your child uses. Children in Mega Wonders must wear shin pads.

Does a parent or carer need to stay?

Yes. Regular classes are not drop-off sessions. A parent or responsible carer must remain at the venue throughout.

Can siblings watch?

Yes, but parents remain responsible for supervising them. Siblings must not enter or disrupt the activity area.

What happens if my child misses a session?

We do not issue refunds or credits for sessions missed because of illness, holidays or personal circumstances. Monthly payments reserve your child’s place.

What happens if Wonderkid Sports cancels or moves location?

If this happens (for example, if our venue becomes unavailable for a week due to unforeseen circumstances) we may use another space at the same venue, move the session to a suitable local venue, or provide a refund or credit. We try to keep our sessions indoors, but, if needed, we have back-up outdoor locations we can use, too. Any changes will be made clear via email and on social media.

What are Wonderkid Power Badges?

Children receive a free progress certificate (called a Wonder WOW Chart) and collect stamps for football skills and effort. Once earned, an optional badge can be purchased during sessions. Children can still complete the pathway without buying the physical badges.

Yes. Wonderkid Sports is run by qualified teachers. Our lead coach is a qualified PE teacher, experienced football coach and holds a disability-in-sport qualification. Relevant coaches and volunteers are DBS checked.

Yes. Our insurance certificate and relevant DBS details can be provided upon request.

How do you keep children safe?

We follow safeguarding procedures, maintain appropriate supervision and require accurate medical and emergency information. Safeguarding concerns can be reported to: safeguarding@wonderkidsports.co.uk.

Can I take photographs?

Please do not photograph or film other children without permission. You may take photographs or video footage of your own child, of course! Do tag us in on social media and use the hashtag #TheWonderkidWay!

Families will be informed in advance about any official photography or videography.
